Tell us about yourself. How would you describe yourself?

I would describe myself as an overall positive-thinking person. I have the ability to view the world in many ways and with different points of view. I have a ‘never give up’ attitude that allows me to persevere through any challenge that presents itself in front of me.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Where would you like to be in your career?

In five years I see myself with a masters in computer science and a career in technology. In my career I would like to be in the managerial position at a startup company.

What are your strengths?

I would say that my strengths are my ability to persevere through any challenge, my positive thinking on life, my ability to work and unite others, and my strength of mind and body.

What are your greatest weakness?

My greatest weakness would be that I sometimes can skip over certain minor errors, but that has now made me become more attentive to whatever it is that I am doing.

What is your best achievement? What was the most difficult task you accomplished?

My best achievement is when my AAU (Amateur Authentic Union) team won nationals two years back. That was one of the most difficult things I have ever done due to our lack of height. While the tallest person on our team was 6’6 other teams had guys 6’8 even 6’10.

What is your greatest failure, and what did you learn from it? How did you handle it?

My greatest failure is losing nationals three years ago. What I learned from this was to humble myself because you can’t underestimate anyone because if you get a big head all you need is a tiny pin to pop it. After a week went by from the loss, I then went back to practice and went harder than ever to get ready for nationals again.

Why should a company hire you?

A company should hire me because of my ability to do well with others and unite a group. I have a background in computer programing, I am a positive thinker and I can persevere through many challenges.

What is the one thing about yourself you’d most like to improve?

I would most like to improve my jumping ability to help when I play basketball. This also ties into work because if I have something I want to improve on I would push to meet my goal.

What is your ideal tech company you would like to work for? Why?

My ideal tech company to work for would be Google. The work environment they have is so laid back and comfortable and they are all like a family. I feel that if you want to just make money, you would get any job, but if you want to have fun while doing it, get a career and Google makes having a career, fun.

Describe an event or experience that has changed the shape of your worldview.

An event that has change the shape of my worldview was watching a documentary about Liberia and the conditions that the people live in. They were living like animals and the poverty level they were living in was shocking. It made me realize how much we take for granted and it humbled me.
