Grades K-8 Professional Development: Eight days (June 4-8, June 11-13) of Scratch Creative Computing and ScratchJR.
Code/Interactive will teach educators a Scratch, a block-based programming language that allows creating animation, interactive stories, and games through hands-on activities that develop computational thinking, problem-solving, and design skills. Creative Computing emphasizes the knowledge, practices, and fundamental literacies that empower young people to create meaningful and interactive computational media and become part of shaping the landscape of technological expression and innovation.
Code/Interactive’s ScratchJr. workshop prepares educators to plan and deliver a 25 hour unit of computer science to students in grades K-12 that highlights ways to integrate computational logic and creativity to develop skills in literacy and math.
The first 10 applicants will be able to participate. There will then be a waitlist.
